Pick what to record. A display, a window or an area, on any screen you have connected, with your camera and microphone if you want them. ⌥⇧R opens the recorder, starts the take and finishes it.
Zooms that follow you. Slyve zooms toward each click and follows the text cursor as you type, then eases back out. Every zoom stays editable.
A calmer cursor. Smoothed movement, a larger pointer, click effects, and motion blur on fast moves in the exported file.
You, in the picture. Your camera as a bubble, side by side with the screen, cut out over it or full frame, and the layout can change as the take plays. Blur the room behind you, live. ⌥⇧C turns the camera on or off.
Trim, split, speed up. Cut a pause, split a clip, play a slow part at up to 8×, and undo anything. Zooms, captions and keys sit on their own lanes.

Your whole studio, two keys away.Hold ⌥ and ⇧, then press a letter. Nine shortcuts cover recording, screenshots, the camera and your keys.

Opens the recorder. Press it again to start, and once more to finish the take.
Try it here: hold ⌥⇧ and press one of the letters above. While Slyve is open, these keys go to Slyve instead of typing their special character. Change or turn off any of them in Settings › Shortcuts.

Record a display, a window or an area, on whichever screen it is. Slyve keeps its own controls out of the picture.

Camera layouts
Your camera as a bubble, side by side with the screen, cut out over it or full frame. Change the layout in the editor after the take. The room behind you can be blurred live, before and during the take.

Record sound from every app, or only the apps you pick, alongside your microphone.

Keep your notes on screen while you record. They stay out of the recording.

Automatic zoom

Save a background, padding and camera look as a preset. Set up a brand kit once (logo, two colours and a font) and new projects start with it.

Captions that get it rightNew
English captions are transcribed on your Mac with far fewer mistakes, and keep each “um” and “uh” so Tidy up can cut them. Add the optional Accurate captions download (about 575 MB) for other languages and noisy rooms. Highlight, Pop and Subtle styles follow each spoken word.

Clean voice when you want it
A voice model on your Mac quietens the room between your words. Voice clean-up is off for new recordings; turn it on in the recorder’s microphone menu or in the editor’s Audio panel.

Keys, as keycapsNew
The shortcuts you press appear on the video as keycaps, on their own lane. Typed words are off until you turn them on, and never come from password fields.

Voice-over, narration and music
Record a voice-over on top of a take, or let Slyve’s narration voice speak a film your assistant makes. It runs on your Mac, and you may use it in videos you publish, including for work. Music ducks under the voice.

Is there a free trial?
Yes: 14 days with every feature. It starts on its own when you sign in to the app with your e-mail address (we send a 6-digit code; there is no password). Videos and screenshots you export during the trial carry a small "Made with Slyve Studio" mark, which a licence removes. When the trial ends, Slyve Studio stops until you buy a licence or enter a licence key; your projects stay on your Mac. One trial is available per Mac. We do not offer goodwill refunds after digital delivery; legal rights and Polar’s policy still apply. See the refund policy.
What does "lifetime" mean?
A lifetime licence lets you use Slyve Studio, with updates, for as long as it is offered. If Slyve Studio is ever discontinued, lifetime holders get notice and a final build that works without the online licence check.
How many Macs can I use it on?
As many as your licence is for: 2, 5 or 10 Macs at a time (more on request). To replace one, sign in on the new Mac and choose Move licence here; the Mac you replace stops being licensed. Licences bought before October 2026 are for two Macs.
Is there a Windows or Linux version?
Not yet. Slyve Studio is a Mac app today, for macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple silicon. Windows and Linux versions are planned separately and are not included in a Mac licence.
Do my recordings leave my Mac?
Only when you choose to share a link. Recording, captions, voice clean-up and export all run on your Mac. If you click Share, that one video (with its poster image and captions) is uploaded so people can watch it at its link; you can delete it any time, and links with no views for 60 days are deleted. The app needs an account (your e-mail address) for the trial and the licence, and sends usage data and crash reports as described in our privacy policy; these never include your recordings.
What downloads after I install?
On first launch, Getting Slyve ready downloads the parts every Mac needs, once, while you carry on: English captions, the narration voice and text recognition. One download is optional: Accurate captions (about 575 MB). All of them run on your Mac.
How good are the captions?
English captions are made on your Mac with far fewer mistakes than before. They keep each “um” and “uh” so Tidy up can find and cut them. For other languages and noisy rooms, add the optional Accurate captions download.
Can I publish videos with the narration voice?
Yes. Slyve’s narration voice runs on your Mac, and you may use it in videos you publish, including commercial ones.
Can Slyve read text in my screenshots and recordings?
Yes, on your Mac. Copy Text reads small and dim text in a screenshot, and auto-blur uses the same reading to find keys, passwords and card numbers in a take and hide them.
Do exported videos keep my chapters?
Yes. Exported MP4 and MOV files carry chapter markers that video players can read, and you can copy the chapters for YouTube.
Can an assistant on another computer use Slyve?
Yes, if you turn on Anywhere in Settings › Lumi › Other apps. It uses an ordinary encrypted connection, so it works on networks that used to block it, and reconnects after your Mac sleeps. See Slyve for agents.
Can I edit a recording I made last month?
Yes. Projects are .slyve files: reopen one, change the zooms, the look or the trim, and export again.
What is the refund policy?
The 14-day free trial lets you try every feature first. Buying asks for immediate digital delivery and, where law permits, ends the 14-day withdrawal right once the licence is delivered. We do not offer goodwill refunds; faulty content, Polar’s policy and rights required by law remain covered. If something is broken, write to support@slyve.studio and we will help. Do I need an AI subscription?
No. Recording, editing, captions and export never need one. If you already use an assistant that supports MCP, you can connect it; see what it can do.
