Any assistant, over MCP.
Slyve speaks the Model Context Protocol. Settings › Lumi › Other apps has one standard setup that works with any MCP assistant, and a Test connection button.
- On this Mac, through the slyve-mcp helper
- The helper tells your assistant what Slyve can do, from editing to export
- Rotate the token in Settings › Lumi › Other apps and the old one stops working
# Any stdio MCP client
{ "mcpServers": { "slyve": { "command": "…/slyve-mcp", "env": { "SLYVE_MCP_BRIDGE_SOCKET": "…", "SLYVE_MCP_SESSION_TOKEN": "…", "SLYVE_MCP_PROJECT_GRANTS": "*" } } } } # Any Streamable HTTP MCP client
{ "mcpServers": { "slyve": { "url": "https://r.slyve.studio/<pairing>/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer …" } } } } Settings › Lumi › Other apps copies these with your own values filled in. The token is the key to your Mac’s Slyve; rotate it there if it leaks.
From another computer, too.
Turn on Anywhere and an assistant on another computer, or in the cloud, reaches this Mac at a private address on r.slyve.studio while Slyve is open. It uses an ordinary encrypted connection, so it works on networks that used to block it. A QR code carries the address to another device.
- Off until you turn it on; reconnects by itself after your Mac sleeps
- The relay checks the token and logs nothing; it keeps one record per pairing, never the token
- Your takes stay on your Mac unless you share a link
See its hands. Undo any step.
Lumi works in the editor’s right rail, or floats if you prefer, and you watch every step. Each change it makes appears with Keep and Undo beside it.
- Activity lists every batch; click one to jump to it
- ⌥⌘Z undoes the assistant’s last edit, not yours
- Asks before anything destructive, unless you tell it not to
Describe the demo. Slyve films it.
Your assistant plans the steps. Slyve rehearses them, then films each step safely in one continuous take while you watch. When a step needs your choice, Slyve asks, and you can take over at any point.
- Never deletes, sends, shares or pays on its own
- The Watch window shows the film as it is made, with Pause, Take over and Stop
- Every step can be edited afterwards like any take
Built so you stay in charge.Your assistant works in the open, on your Mac, and you can take any of it back.
Checkpoints
Edit › Checkpoints lists each saved state and who saved it, you or your assistant. Restoring one is a single step that Undo takes back.
Audit
The Watch window’s Audit tab lists each film step, who chose the control and what the safety check said.
Exact control matching
Slyve follows the reviewed plan and checks the control again before filming it. If controls look too similar, your assistant chooses from a short list.
Narrated films
Your assistant writes a line for each step; Slyve’s narration voice speaks it on your Mac and captions follow. You may publish the film, including for work.
Pause and stop
Settings › Lumi › Other apps shows a live feed of what each assistant is doing, with Pause, Stop and Revoke access.
No Slyve AI bill
Slyve has no AI subscription and meters nothing. Use the assistant you already have, or none: Slyve works fully without one.
Questions from assistant users.Something else? Write to support.
Do I need an assistant to use Slyve?
No. Recording, editing, captions and export never need one. Assistants are an extra for people who already use them.
Which assistants work?
Any assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP). One standard setup in Settings › Lumi › Other apps works for all of them.
Does Anywhere work on my network?
Almost certainly. Anywhere uses an ordinary encrypted web connection, so it works on home, office and public networks that blocked it before, and it reconnects by itself after your Mac sleeps.
What goes through r.slyve.studio?
Only when Anywhere is on: your assistant’s requests and Slyve’s answers, including any preview frames it asks for, encrypted in transit. The relay forwards them without storing or logging them. See the privacy policy.
Can my assistant break a project?
Every change is an undoable step with its author, ⌥⌘Z undoes the assistant’s last edit, and checkpoints take you back further. Slyve asks before destructive edits.
How does Slyve choose a control during a film?
It follows exact plan matches and checks each control again on the filming stage. When the match is unclear or the action is consequential, your assistant chooses from the controls Slyve offers.
