Slyve Studio Beta

Connect your assistant

Let any MCP assistant you already use edit, film and export in Slyve, with every change shown and undoable.

Slyve works fully without an AI subscription. If you already use an assistant that supports MCP, you can connect it. It can then edit your takes, film an app for you and export. Slyve does the work; your assistant plans it.

Connect

  1. Open Settings › Lumi › Other apps and turn on Let other apps and agents use Slyve.
  2. Under Connect, choose where your assistant runs:
    • On this Mac: copy the setup and add it to your assistant.
    • Anywhere: for an assistant on another computer or in the cloud. Copy the relay address and paste it into your assistant. It uses an ordinary encrypted connection.
  3. Ask your assistant to do something in Slyve.

Copy setup prompt gives your assistant everything it needs in a few lines. Slyve’s connector then explains to it how Slyve works.

Ask from inside Slyve

  • In the editor, press ⌘J to open the Assistant panel and ask about what you have selected, like “make this zoom smoother”. Hold ⌥ to ask by voice. Your words are worked out on your Mac.
  • In the Library, press ⌘K and ask your assistant to record something. The film lands in the Library under Assistant films.

Its steps show as it works. Every change it makes has Keep and Undo.

If no assistant is listening, Slyve can start one you have installed. Choose it under Settings › Lumi › Other apps › Run requests from Slyve.

Stay in control

  • All projects (on by default) lets agents reach every project. Turn it off and they see only the project open in the editor and the films they made.
  • New private key disconnects every agent at once.
  • While your assistant films, a small bar shows the live stage with Watch, Pause and Stop.
  • Slyve never types into password fields, and stops to ask you before anything that sends, deletes or cannot be undone.

The tools your assistant gets

Slyve’s connector is an MCP server. It explains its own workflow to your assistant, so you do not need to paste this into a prompt; it is here so you know what an assistant can do. Every change it makes is one undo step and is listed under Settings › Lumi › Other apps › Live activity.

Find out what is possible

  • studio.capabilities: what this Mac’s Slyve can do right now: its grants, limits and features, each on, off, waiting for a permission, or waiting for an add-on.
  • studio.discover: the projects the assistant may reach, and the stable ids inside one (clips, zooms, captions, transcript ranges, key badges, the selection), with the project’s current revision.
  • studio.operations.describe: every edit command and its exact shape.

Edit a project

  • studio.commands.apply: one batch of edits, applied together at the revision the assistant last saw. If the project moved on in the meantime, nothing is changed and the assistant looks again.
  • studio.inspect: real frames, rendered the way an export renders them, to check an edit before anyone exports. It can make a contact sheet of a whole range.
  • studio.history: undo or redo. Given the undo step a batch returned, it undoes only that batch, and only while it is still the newest step.

Export and wait

  • studio.jobs: start, follow, cancel and read exports and transcripts. Exports save into your export folder and never over an existing file.
  • studio.events.poll: wait for something to happen: a job finishing, a film needing an answer, a new request from you.
  • studio.inbox: the requests you made from the editor’s Lumi panel (⌘J) or the Library’s ask bar (⌘K). The assistant claims one, reports progress and replies there.

Film an app

An assistant films on Slyve’s own private stage, never on your screen.

  1. studio.film.prepare: stage the app (a fresh copy on a throwaway document, or a web page in a throwaway browser profile) with the whole plan. Every beat that sends, deletes, spends or changes an account is marked consequential.
  2. studio.film.observe: the controls in the staged window, by id, to aim at.
  3. studio.film.run: rehearse the beats off camera. It stops at the first one it cannot do safely.
  4. studio.film.handoff.respond: answer a stopped beat: choose a control, retry with a changed beat, or skip. Only you can confirm a blocked consequential control.
  5. studio.film.finish: record one continuous take of the rehearsed film and save it to your Library under Assistant films.

studio.film.status reports where a film is; studio.film.metrics counts what decided each beat and why any stopped.
