Share a link
Upload a video and get a link anyone can watch in a browser, with chapters, captions and comments.
A share link lets anyone watch your video in their browser, without the app.
Share a video
- Sign in to Slyve, if you have not.
- Click Share link: in the Export sheet, as the link icon in the row of the card after a recording, or in a Library card’s ⋯ menu. While it uploads, the link icon spins; click it again to cancel.
- Slyve uploads the video and copies the link. Paste it anywhere.
Viewers see your chapters, captions and transcript, and can leave reactions and comments.
A Library Share or Export also uses your edited composition, including its trims and look. To send a file the recipient can edit, see Share an editable project.
Share a link as soon as you stop
In the recorder, open ⚙▾ › After recording and choose Share a link. When you stop, Slyve exports the take with its automatic zooms and privacy covers, uploads it and puts the link on your clipboard. No window opens: the activity bar shows the progress, and a small toast says Link copied with Copy, Open and Edit. The take’s Library card shows the link icon, and sharing it again after you edit it keeps the same link while it is live.
If the pre-export review has something to check, such as a privacy cover you have not reviewed, nothing is uploaded: the take opens in the editor with the review. With auto-blur on, the take opens in the editor too, so the blur can read it first. While you are signed out or share links are not available, the choice is greyed out with the reason, and stopping opens the editor.
Limits
- Up to 5 shared videos at a time.
- Each video up to 5 minutes and 200 MB.
- A link nobody watches for 60 days is deleted.

Who watched
A shared video’s card and its Share sheet show its views and when it was last watched, such as “12 views · last today”. When you set an end date, they also say “Expires in 6 days”. Slyve reads this again each time you open the sheet; with sharing off it asks nothing.
Shared videos are in the Library under Shared. Delete video removes it, and the link stops working. You can also manage them at Your videos on this site.
Do not see Share link?
Share links are rolling out. Until they reach your app, Share… sends the video file with the macOS share menu. It always works and uploads nothing to us.
